Need hydrojet drain cleaning in Adelaide? We use high-pressure water jetting up to 5,000 PSI to cut roots, dissolve grease, and scour blocked sewer and stormwater lines clean. Same-day service across metropolitan Adelaide. Call 0432 667 785.
Hydrojetting fixes drain blockages that cable machines and chemical cleaners cannot touch. Where an electric eel just punches a hole through the blockage, the hydrojet strips the entire pipe wall clean and pushes the debris all the way to the main sewer. The result lasts much longer.
What hydrojetting does that other methods cannot
- Cuts tree roots at the source, not just the tip poking into the line
- Strips grease, fat and soap scum off the pipe wall in one pass
- Clears compacted debris (wipes, sanitary products, food scraps) that cables push past
- Clears the full pipe diameter, not just a narrow channel
- Cleans the pipe surface so a follow-up CCTV inspection can actually see pipe condition
- No chemicals, so safe for septic, ageing pipework and the environment
When hydrojet is the right call
Recurring blockages
If a drain has been “cleared” by an eel multiple times in the past 12 months, the underlying issue (roots, grease, sag) is still there. Hydrojetting clears the actual cause.
Tree-root infiltration
Roots love the moisture in sewer lines. Adelaide’s mature street trees and clay soils mean root intrusion is one of the top causes of drain failure across the city. Hydrojetting cuts roots cleanly without damaging the pipe.
Grease and food sludge in commercial kitchens
Cafes, restaurants and food businesses across Adelaide rely on regular hydrojet maintenance to keep grease arrestors and kitchen lines flowing. Cable machines just push the grease around. Hydrojetting strips it cleanly.
Stormwater and downpipe blockages
Leaves, silt and debris compact in stormwater pits and downpipes. A jet flushes it through to the legal point of discharge.
Pre-CCTV cleaning
You cannot accurately inspect a dirty pipe. Hydrojetting first means our CCTV drain inspection footage shows actual pipe condition, not a smear of grease.
How our hydrojet service works
- Diagnose. We confirm the blocked line, locate the inspection point, and decide on the right nozzle for the job (root cutter, flusher, descaler).
- Jet. High-pressure water is pushed down the line. The nozzle pulls itself through, scouring the pipe wall and carrying debris back to the main sewer.
- Inspect. CCTV camera goes down the cleaned line so you see exactly what was there and what the pipe looks like now.
- Recommend. If the pipe is structurally damaged, we quote relining or excavation with footage to back it.
- Tidy and test. Flush the system, water-test, leave the area clean, walk you through what we found.
What hydrojetting costs in Adelaide
Pricing depends on line length, blockage severity, and whether CCTV inspection is included (we recommend it on most main-line jobs). Maintenance hydrojet contracts for cafes and restaurants are quoted separately. Fixed quote in writing before any work starts.

Hydrojet FAQs
Will hydrojetting damage old pipes?
Modern hydrojetting equipment is adjustable. We pick a pressure and nozzle suitable for the pipe material. We do not jet at full pressure on fragile earthenware – we use a lower setting and a softer nozzle. The CCTV inspection afterwards tells us if the pipe was already cracked, in which case relining or replacement is the right next step.
How is hydrojetting different from an electric eel?
An eel pushes a metal cable with a cutting head through the blockage. It clears a hole. A hydrojet uses high-pressure water with a nozzle that scours the entire pipe wall as it pulls itself through. Hydrojet is far better for grease, roots, and main sewer lines. Eels still have a place in tight branch lines.
How often should commercial kitchens hydrojet?
Most Adelaide cafes and restaurants do well on a 6 to 12 month maintenance jet of the kitchen line and grease arrestor outlet. Volume kitchens often do quarterly. We can set up a recurring schedule.
Can hydrojetting clear tree roots permanently?
It clears the current intrusion completely. Whether roots come back depends on whether the entry point in the pipe (cracked joint or fitting) is repaired. CCTV after the jet shows you the entry point. Pipe relining seals it for the long term.
Is the work mess-free?
Hydrojetting is clean compared to other methods. We work from your inspection points so the job stays in the yard or driveway. No internal pipework needs to be opened. We tidy the work area before we leave.
