Plenty of plumbing problems have a 5 minute answer that does not need a plumber. These are the ones we get asked about most.
Toilet paper falls apart in minutes. Wipes labelled flushable do not. Here is what the testing found, why Adelaide clay sewers catch them so reliably, and how to tell a wipe blockage from a root blockage.
Read the guideCeramic disc cartridges outlast jumper valve washers on paper. Repairability, Adelaide water quality and whether the spare part still exists are what decide which tap is actually the better one to own.
Read the guideMost pages on this subject say never use them, which readers do not believe because the bottle sometimes works. Here is the accurate version: what is in it, what it damages, the narrow case where it is a fair choice, and the symptoms that mean it will never help.
Read the guideWe are based at Westbourne Park and work through the inner south, the eastern suburbs, the western suburbs, the coast, the hills face and out into the Adelaide Hills. Unley, Goodwood, Mitcham, Norwood, Glenelg, Blackwood, Stirling and Mount Barker are all covered. If you are not sure whether you are in range, call and ask rather than guess.
You get a price before any work starts, so there are no surprises on the invoice. That is what customers consistently mention in reviews. Every job is different, so call and describe what is happening and we will come back with a figure.
For anything actively leaking or flooding, call rather than fill in a form and we will tell you honestly when we can be there. For everything else, you get a text with an arrival window before we set off, so you are not stuck waiting on a 4 hour block.
Yes, and here is the number so you can check rather than take our word for it: Marc holds SA Consumer and Business Services licence 196014 as a plumber and gas fitter, first granted in 2006. Look it up on the public register at cbs.sa.gov.au. All notifiable plumbing and gas work is signed off with the required certificate of compliance.
Turn the water off at the mains, which is normally at the front boundary near the water meter, turned clockwise. If it is a hot water unit leaking, turn off its isolating valve and the power or gas to it. If you can smell gas, do not touch any switch: get everyone outside and call the gas emergency line first.
Tell us what is going on and we will come back with a time and a price before any work starts. For anything actively leaking, call instead.
