Need a CCTV drain camera inspection in Adelaide? We push a high-resolution colour camera through your sewer or stormwater line, record the footage, and tell you exactly what is wrong, where it is wrong, and what it will cost to fix. No guesswork. Call 0432 667 785.

A CCTV drain inspection turns “we think it might be roots” into “you have a 30mm root mass at 4.2 metres from the inspection opening, in an earthenware pipe with a cracked joint”. You get the truth, on video, so you can decide what to do next with full information.

When you need a CCTV drain inspection

Recurring blockages in the same drain

If you have cleared the same drain three times in a year, the pipe is doing the same thing each time. CCTV shows you what (roots, sag, damaged joint, illegal connection) so you can fix the cause.

Pre-purchase property inspection

Sewer and stormwater issues are not part of a building inspection. They can cost tens of thousands to fix. A CCTV drain inspection before you sign the contract tells you whether the underground plumbing is sound, especially important for older Adelaide properties with earthenware pipework.

Selling a property and want to flag clean drains

If your drains are in good condition, an inspection report is a useful selling document, especially for older properties where buyers are nervous about underground risks.

Suspected pipe damage from tree roots, ground movement or vehicle weight

Subsidence, large trees near drain runs, or heavy vehicles parked over a buried line can crack pipes long before you notice the symptom.

After a hydrojet clear

Once the line is clean, the camera tells us whether the blockage was a one-off or whether you have a structural issue (cracks, sags, joint failure) that will keep causing problems.

Insurance claim documentation

Many home insurance policies cover damage caused by drain failure but require footage of the damage. We supply MP4 video plus a written report.

What our CCTV inspections cover

  • Sewer lines – from the house to the boundary
  • Stormwater lines – downpipes, surface drains, soak wells
  • Branch lines from individual fixtures
  • Long runs using a 60-metre push rod
  • Damaged or collapsed sections with locator beacon to mark exact ground position

How a CCTV inspection works

  • Locate the inspection point. We work from an existing IO (inspection opening) or sewer junction.
  • Clean if needed. A dirty pipe gives a useless inspection. We hydrojet first if grease or debris is masking the pipe wall.
  • Push the camera. The colour camera is fed down the line with a flexible push rod. We watch the footage live on a monitor.
  • Mark issues. Pipe damage, root entry, sag, joint failure, fittings – all called out and timestamped.
  • Locate underground. The camera has a beacon. A ground-surface receiver pinpoints the exact location of any damage so you know where it is to dig if needed.
  • Report. Written report plus MP4 video supplied by email same day.

What a CCTV inspection costs in Adelaide

A standalone CCTV inspection of one drain run is a single call-out fee with the report supplied. Combined with hydrojet drain clearing, the inspection is often included or heavily discounted because we are already on site. Pre-purchase inspections are quoted separately because of the additional reporting detail. Fixed quote in writing before any work starts.

CCTV drain inspection FAQs

Will I get a copy of the video?

Yes. MP4 video file plus a written report emailed to you the same day. Useful for insurance claims, conveyancing and your own records.

Can you find where a damaged pipe is buried?

Yes. The camera has a locator beacon. A ground-surface receiver pinpoints the exact location and depth of any damage, so if excavation or relining is required we mark the spot before we dig.

Is CCTV inspection worth doing before buying a property?

For older properties (pre-1980s) we strongly recommend it. Earthenware sewer pipes from that era are often cracked, root-infested or partially collapsed. Repair or replacement can cost tens of thousands. The inspection cost is trivial compared to the downside of finding out after settlement.

How long does an inspection take?

A single drain run takes 30 to 60 minutes including the report walk-through. Whole-of-property inspections take longer because there are usually three or four runs to cover.

Can you do CCTV inspection without clearing the line first?

Only if the line is clean enough to see through. If grease, soft blockages or standing water are obscuring the pipe wall, we hydrojet first so the inspection is actually meaningful.
